Stories are generated using Anthropic Claude. Images are generated using OpenAI. Content is reviewed before publication, but errors may still occur.
Privacy Policy
What we collect
We store an anonymous session identifier (generated randomly, stored in your browser) to personalize your feed and save your reading progress. We do not collect your name, email, or any personally identifiable information.
Interactions
We log which cards you swipe on, read deeper, and save. This data is tied to your anonymous session and is used solely to improve your feed recommendations. Journal entries are private and tied to your anonymous session.
Local storage
Your session ID, seen card history, saved cards, and streak data are stored locally in your browser. Clearing your browser data will reset your progress.
Third parties
We use Supabase for data storage and Vercel for hosting. No data is sold or shared with advertisers. AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI) are used for content generation only and do not receive user data.
Data retention
Interaction data and journal entries are retained indefinitely to support your reading experience. You may request deletion of your session data by contacting us.
Terms of Use
Untold Archives is provided as-is for educational and entertainment purposes. Historical content should not be cited as an academic source. By using this app, you acknowledge that content is AI-assisted and may not be fully accurate.
All generated content is original but inspired by real historical events. Image depictions are artistic interpretations, not historical photographs or verified recreations.
